01Who We Are
Morningcast is published by Apphesus Teknoloji A.Ş., a company registered in Türkiye ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at [email protected].
Morningcast has no account or sign-in. You never give us a name, email address or password to use the app.
02What We Collect And Why
Your edition preferences. The regions and categories you choose and your preferred delivery hour are stored on your device and sent to our servers as part of building your edition.
Approximate region from your IP address. To suggest a home region when you first open the app, our server derives an approximate region from the request's IP address. This is used to answer that one request and is not stored together with any identity.
No precise location, no tracking. We do not request your device's precise location. Morningcast has no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics SDKs, and it never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track you across apps or websites.
Notifications. Reminders are local and optional. If you turn on remote delivery notices, we store your device's push token together with your preferred delivery hour and time zone, so we can tell your device when an edition is ready. We delete a token as soon as Apple reports it invalid.
On-device speech and translation. Listening to your edition and, on iOS 18 and later, translating it, run on your device using Apple's frameworks. That text does not leave your device. iOS handles any voice or language downloads you choose in Settings.
What stays on your device. Your reading preferences, what you have already read and cached editions are kept on your device, not on our servers.
Purchases. Subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment card. RevenueCat, our subscription provider, receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase history so the app knows what you have bought.
Feedback. If you send feedback from the app we receive the text you write.
Server logs. Like most services, our servers keep standard logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for a short period for security and reliability.
03Content Services You Interact With
Edition summaries. Your edition is written on our servers from public news reporting. Every story links to its source.
Speech and translation. Listening and translation use Apple's on-device frameworks; the content does not leave your device for these features.
Sources. When you open a story's source you leave the app for that publisher's website, which has its own privacy policy.
04Who We Share Data With
We share data only with the providers needed to run the app: Apple (App Store, notifications) and RevenueCat (subscription status). We do not sell personal data, we run no advertising, and we do not share data with data brokers.
05How Long We Keep Data
- Push tokens and delivery preferences: until Apple reports the token invalid or you ask us to delete them.
- Server logs: a short period, for security and reliability.
- Purchase records at RevenueCat: for as long as needed to honour your subscription.
- Feedback: until resolved, then deleted or anonymised.
06Your Choices And Rights
- Notifications: turn them off in iOS Settings › Notifications › Morningcast, or change the delivery hour in the app's Settings.
- Your edition: change your regions, categories and delivery time at any time in the app's Settings.
- Data on your device: deleting the app removes your preferences, cached editions and read state.
- Access, correction, deletion, objection and portability: email [email protected]. Because we hold no account, tell us roughly when you installed the app and your device model so we can find your records. You may also complain to your data protection authority; in Türkiye that is the KVKK, in the EEA your national authority, in the UK the ICO.
07Children
Morningcast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the related data.
08Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Device records are stored in access-controlled databases and only the data needed to deliver notifications is kept. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires if a breach affects your data.
09Changes
We will post any new version of this policy at this address and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will also announce it in the app.
